The gradual evolution of the ‘Governmental and Institutional Travel and Tourism’ (GITT), has led to a standardization and specialization of the professionals involved in this sector. Due to their very nature, governmental and institutional travel is configured around a team of professionals who must know the particularities of the sector in order to guarantee the success of the trips.
In this course, we describe the actions that the Governmental Department in charge of managing and monitoring these trips, called the Travel Unit, carries out according to the organization and execution of the trips. In accordance with this, the course defines the different internal structure models that these departments usually follow, along with management and planning models, through which certain functions are executed throughout each of the stages that these trips go through.
Furthermore, the course also includes the foundations defined by the United Nations in its Agenda 2030 in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals, applied in this case to Tourism and Government Travel.
