Governmental and institutional travel falls within the sector called 'Governmental and Institutional Travel and Tourism' (GITT), which is formed as its own segment within the tourism industry. This sector, due to the nature of its clients, has specific action protocols included in the International GITT Standard regulatory body which, together with the specific training programs for the sector, set the guidelines for the professionalization and certification of trip, destinations and suppliers.

The basis of this standardization is based on some universal principles of the sector that all intervening agents must take into account: the Best Practices of the GITT sector, originally collected in a Manual and that, through this course, the student will be able to know and apply first hand, taking the first and necessary step in its process of professionalization, specialization and excellence within the government and institutional travel sector.
